Letter from Miss Okeya Johnson

February 6, 2009

My name is Okeya Johnson, I am 13 years old. I proudly serve an organization named CORA’S Teen Talk as a Teen Team Leader. As a member of this organization, I primarily assist with the Back To School Youth Explosion and CORA’S Teen Talk. For nearly three years I have been a part of our back to School Annual Youth Explosion, Giving Back to the Community. Each year I have met so many teens seeking answers concerning their issues, help with school supplies, clothing and wanting to have fun in a positive atmosphere.

CORA’S has blessed me and so many others with theses items that we needed. This organization is community oriented and strongly believes in reaching out, helping people to better themselves and to improve their lives.

Since I have been a part of CORA’S Teen Talk, my grades are better now, I am an A-B student. When you give back to the community, you give people a chance to do better because they have the tools to perform.

— Okeya Johnson

Since 2009 Okeya has graduated from high school as an honor student enrolled in ROTC, has a job and is entering college as a junior since she studied and took college courses during her high school years. Way to go Okeya! Okeya continues to help CORA’S to this day.
